SEC Announces 2025 Football Schedule Format
The SEC will stick with an eight-game format for the 2025 college football season. Georgia football conference opponents announced.
With the landscape of college football being in an ever-changing cycle, it leaves football fans on the edge of their seats in anticipation of what the next announcement will be. Well for SEC fans, it doesn't appear that any changes will be made to the format of the schedules for the 2025 season.
Georgia's 2025 conference opponents have officially been announced as of Wednesday, and the conference will be maintaining an eight-game conference opponent schedule into the next calendar year. The only change that was made to the schedules was the venues will flip. For instance, Georgia will play Texas on the road this season but will host the Longhorns at home the following year in 2025. That goes for every single conference game on the schedule.
Georgia has a bit of a tough task ahead of them for their 2024 eight-game conference schedule. During the upcoming season, they will face Texas, Alabama and Ole Miss on the road this season. The Bulldogs will also play host to Tennessee and Auburn with neutral site games scheduled against both Florida and Clemson.
There have been some expectations that Commissioner Greg Sankey and the SEC will eventually move to a nine-game conference schedule, but by the sound of things, that doesn't appear to be the case for at least the next two seasons.
