What KJ Bolden's Flip to Georgia Means for the Bulldogs
The Georgia Bulldogs shocked the college football world on signing day when KJ Bolden announced he would be flipping his committment from Florida State to Georgia.
Bolden, a 5-star ATH out of Buford, Georgia spent a large portion of his recruitment committed to the Florida State Seminoles but remained in talks with multiple schools such as Auburn and Georgia. So much so, that rumors of his flip began to swirl on the morning of signing day.
Those rumors were proved true when Bolden officially signed his Letter of Intent to play for the Bulldogs during the upcoming 2024 season. The news certainly bolsters Georgia's already elite 2024 class and further cements Kirby Smart as one of college football's most effective recruiters. Bolden's flip also has some other major implications.
For one, it shows that Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are never fully out of a recruitment. It also means that players and coaches seem to have full faith in Donte Williams, who will be replacing Fran Brown as the defensive backs coach this upcoming season.
Bolden's flip to Georgia will also bolster either the defensive back or wide receiver room. During his time at Buford High School, Bolden was a standout athlete in both positions. Making highlight-reel plays on both sides of the ball and cementing his 5-star status. He will be an excellent addition to whichever position group he joins for the Bulldogs.
The Georgia Bulldogs have already had an excellent signing day, inking the No.1 class for the 2024 cycle. And with the addition of a highly-talented player such as KJ Bolden, the Bulldogs' future seems to be in excellent hands.
