BREAKING: Mecole Hardman Signs with New York Jets
The NFL offseason is a hectic time for teams, coaches, players, and all others involved. Between contract negotiations, free agencies, and draft prospects, it is fairly common for players to join new organizations. Mecole Hardman is no exception as he has just signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets according to NFLNetwork Insider, Tom Pelissero.
Hardman, a former second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft was previously a member of the Kansas City Chiefs and played an integral in role in the team's recent Super Bowl victories. In his four seasons with the team, Hardman hauled in 151 catches for 2,088 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also added a pair of rushing touchdowns to his totals in the 2022 season.
In college, Hardman was a receiver and return team specialist at the University of Georgia. In just two full seasons with the Bulldogs, the Elberton, Georgia native accounted for 13 total offensive touchdowns and was a monstrous threat as a return specialist, returning a punt for a touchdown in the 2018 season.
According to NFLNetwork Insider Ian Rapaport, Hardman's deal with the Jets is for one year and can be worth as much as $6.5 million.
