Baltimore Ravens Release Statement on Todd Monken Hire

The Baltimore Ravens have released a statement after hiring former Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken for the same position.

After spending three seasons as Georgia's offensive coordinator, Todd Monken has officially been hired by the Baltimore Ravens for the same position. The former Georgia play-caller had interviewed for several NFL jobs this offseason as a transition back to the NFL was expected to occur eventually.

This will be Monken's fourth job at the professional level as he has previous history with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and was with the Cleveland Browns before he arrived at Georgia. This will be his third offensive coordinator gig in the NFL.

After breaking the news about Monken coming on board, the Ravens released a statement from head coach John Harbaugh and how the team came to the decision to offer Monken the position.

Now, as the Bulldogs near the start of spring practices and their preparation for the 2023 season, they will need to figure out what their next move will be. Monken helped turn Georgia into a very respectable and efficient offense, and it seems they have already found the man for the job.

Mike Bobo was brought on staff to be an offensive analyst a year ago, but he might as well have just been named offensive coordinator in waiting. Reports from the Athletic are already surfacing that Bobo has been named the offensive coordinator.

Bobo most recently called plays at Auburn and South Carolina after a head coaching stent at Colorado State, though most will Georgia fans will remember his days as offensive coordinator at Georgia under previous head coach Mark Richt.
