Reacting to the Eagles' Selection of Jalen Carter
Jalen Carter's first-round slide ended at the ninth pick of the 2023 NFL draft as the Philadelphia Eagles selected the Georgia defensive lineman. Philadelphia already has one of the best interior defensive lines in the league and will likely get even better with the addition of Carter.
Carter will be joining fellow Bulldogs and former teammates Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean, who were essential members of Georgia's legendary 2021 defense and key factors to Bulldogs'
During the Bulldogs' 2022 national championship season, Carter amassed three sacks and 29 tackles despite missing a handful of games with an ankle injury.
There were several questions leading up to the NFL Draft about Carter's character, bringing up concerns that lead to a potential fall in this draft. It's something that most in the building in Philadelphia were likely made to feel better about with so much Georgia DNA already on the roster.
Carter was the third defensive lineman taken in the 2023 NFL Draft behind Texas Tech's Tyree Wilson and Alabama's Will Anderson. He will enter the Eagles roster and contend for immediate playing time alongside several quality veterans.
