Former Georgia Gaurd Kario Oquendo Finds New Home

Former Georgia gaurd Kario Oquendo has found his next destination in Eugene, Oregon

Former Georgia guard Kario Oquendo has announced via Instagram that he will be taking his talents to Eugene to play for the Oregon Ducks this upcoming season after entering the transfer portal back in mid-March of 2023.

Oquendo was the team's leading scorer during the Dawg's dreadful 2021 season and was a massive reason for the team's relative success under first-year head coach Mike White in the 2022 regular season. In that time, he led the team to a handful of victories behind strong second-half performances, which included a 15-point outing in the second half alone to put the Bulldogs past the Ole Miss Rebels. He finished the 2022 season as the team's second-highest scorer with 12.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.

Oquendo will now be joining longtime Oregon head coach Dana Altman, who has been with the team since the 2010 season. During his tenure with the Ducks, Altman has won Pac-12 Coach of the Year three times (2013, 2015 and 2016) and helped lead the team to the Final Four during the 2017 March Madness Tournament.
