Georgia basketball and head coach Mike White has been on an absolute tear on the recruiting trail as of late, and the Bulldogs have secured yet another transfer commitment ahead of the 2023 season. RJ Sunahara, the former D-II player of the year, has announced his commitment to coach White and the Bulldogs.

Sunahara will join an already-loaded transfer portal class for the hoop Dawgs, and he brings a great skill set with him. Last season at Nova Southeastern University, Sunahara averaged 18.9 points per game, 5.4 rebounds, and shot 59 percent from the field. He also carries great size as he stands at 6-foot-8.

The D-II transfer will be coming alongside some other great additions from the portal that Mike White and his staff snagged this offseason. Georgia also got Blue Cain out of IMG Academy is one of the more recent commits and is listed as a top-100 player in the nation. Georgia also has commitments from Mari Jordan, Silas Demary Jr., and Dylan James. Russel Tchewa, Jalen Deloach, and RJ Melendez are the transfers that the Bulldogs will be bringing in alongside Thomasson.

Tchewa stands at 7-foot and weighs 280 pounds. Last season for the Bulls, Tchewa averaged 11.1 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game. He also shot a little over 60 percent from the field. Tchewa is a big physical body that will help anchor the Bulldogs down low on both offense and defense which is something Georgia has been needing for the past few seasons.

Melendez and Deloach will also help add some good size to Georgia's roster and combining that with the guard play the Bulldogs have accumulated in this year's recruiting class from players like Thomasson, coach White, and his staff are looking to have a much-improved roster for the 2023 season.

White and his staff have managed to reel in some solid players this offseason and have the hoop Dawgs in good shape to make some major improvements compared to how they finished this past season. White has only been at Georgia for one full season, but he is quickly getting things rolling for his program, and getting a scorer like Sunahara will help make a difference in 2023.
