Darris Smith Announces He Is Back With The Team
Just a day before Georgia is set to kickoff and face off against their rival, the Florida Gators, the team received some great news. Earlier in the week, it was announced by head coach Kirby Smart that edge rusher Darris Smith was not currently with the team. Now, Smith has announced on his Instagram page that he is back with the team.
Smith posted a story on his account with a picture of himself and the song "I'm Back" by Raq Baby playing in the background.
Smart was asked about Darris Smith Tuesday during his media availability and said that Darris Smith is "not with us right now." Sources have told Dawgs Daily that it's an internal issue that is not related to an injury. Smith now returning to the team is great news for the Bulldogs as he brings back some important depth on the defensive side of the football.
The Georgia Bulldogs are set to make their annual pilgrimage to Jacksonville, Florida, this Saturday as they prepare for the 100th edition of "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party". The Bulldogs currently lead the series 55-44.
Last year's matchup saw the Bulldogs turn in a controlling victory as they handled the Gators by a score of 42-20 en route to their first-ever 15-0 season. Georgia is currently a large favorite over the Gators and will be looking to earn its third straight victory against its rival.
