SOURCES: Pearce Spurlin Out for Spring with Injury
The University of Georgia entered spring "healthier than we've been since I've been here," according to head coach Kirby Smart. With just three players out completely and two players limited entering spring practice, Smart was happy about the injury report for the two-time defending champs.
That was until the pads came on Saturday when the Bulldogs suffered their first injury of the spring calendar to freshman tight end Pearce Spurlin. Sources have indicated to Dawgs Daily that Spurling broke his collarbone and underwent surgery Tuesday morning. He will be out for at least two months.
Spurlin entered the Georgia program as a four-star recruit alongside fellow 2023 tight end signee Lawson Luckie. Both Spurlin and Luckie early enrolled. Luckie, Oscar Delp, and Brock Bowers will now be the only remaining scholarship tight ends available for practice this spring.
Georgia lost both Rylan Goede and Brett Seither to the NCAA Transfer Portal, with Darnell Washington entering the 2023 NFL Draft.
