What We Learned About Georgia in Their Win Over Missouri
The Georgia Bulldogs continued their winning ways this past Saturday as they bested the Missouri Tigers by a score of 30-21 in Athens. The win was their 10th straight against the Tigers. With the matchup in the rearview, here are a few things we learned about the team.
It’s Possible to Run the Ball Against This Team
While rushing yards have been notoriously hard to come by against the Dawgs. The Tigers seemed to be one of the few teams to have found some success on the ground. Missouri running back Cody Schrader finished the day with an impressive 112 rushing yards and was wildly effective throughout the game.
This Team Has No Trouble Playing From Behind
A common theme of the Bulldogs’ 2023 team is that they seem to find themselves trailing at some point. In fact, the Bulldogs have trailed at some point in all but one of their six SEC matchups this season. Saturday’s game was no different, as the Bulldogs found themselves trailing early in the first quarter against the Tigers. Despite this, the Dawgs have remained undefeated and have shown they have no issues playing from behind.
When Healthy, This Running Back Room is Dangerous
For all of the woes the running back room went through at the start of the season, the Bulldogs rushing attack has shaped up nicely. On Saturday’s victory over the Tigers, both Kendal Milton and Daijun Edwards each rushed for over 4.5 yards per carry, totaling over 130 yards on the ground. With an excellent O-line and a running back room that continues to get healthier. Georgia’s rushing attack has a chance to become one of the best in the nation.
The Bulldogs will host the Ole Miss Rebels in Athens next Saturday. The Rebels have not played in Athens since 2012 and are the only remaining SEC team that Kirby Smart has not defeated.
