Dawson Brown And Angelo Dispigna Named National Players Of The Week
For the second straight week, Georgia Tech has had someone named the national player of the week by Collegiate Baseball.
Jake DeLeo was honored after a great weekend last week and today, pitcher Dawson Brown and infielder Angelo Dispigna were named national players of the week by Collegiate Baseball. Here is what Collegiate Baseball had to say about both player's performance:
"Brown struck out a career-high 12 batters over 6 innings against Tennessee Tech. He allowed 4 hits."
"Dispigna belted 3 home runs with 7 RBI and scored 6 runs as he went 7-for-17 at the plate."
Georgia Tech won the first game against Tennessee Tech 12-3 thanks to a steady offense and 12 strikeouts from Brown.
The second game on Saturday saw Dispigna and Rubenstein hit a couple of home runs and knock in five runs combined to put away the Golden Eagles 10-4.
The Yellow Jackets fell behind 4-0 in the first inning yesterday, but the pitching got steadier as the game went on and the offense was too much for Tennessee Tech to handle.
Georgia Tech is back in action at home tomorrow at 4:00 p.m., taking on the Long Island Sharks. Tech also plays on Wednesday against Kennesaw State before a weekend series against rival Georgia caps the weekend.
