Georgia Tech's Jackson Finley picked by the Oakland A's in 2023 MLB Draft
Georgia Tech's Jackson Finley came off the board in the 8th round of the 2023 MLB Draft today. The Oakland Athletics, who are undergoing a major rebuild ahead of their move to Las Vegas, picked Finley today.
Finley joins a slew of other Yellow Jackets and Georgia Tech signees that have been selected today. Georgia Tech signees Antonio Anderson and Isaiah Drake were picked by the Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves, Georgia Tech second baseman Kristian Campbell was also picked by the Red Sox, and outfielder Jake DeLeo was selected by the Marlins.
Last season for Georgia Tech, Finley hit .328 with 17 home runs and 61 RBIs. On the mound, Finley was 2-4 with a 6.27 ERA in 14 appearances. He has the stuff to be a consistent player on the mound and I am eager to see what position he sticks at in the Major Leagues.
More Georgia Tech prospects are sure to be picked up over the next couple of days, so be sure to stay tuned right here for the latest MLB Draft news.
