Updated ACC Baseball Standings: 4/10
Georgia Tech had a shaky series against North Carolina this past weekend and it nearly made them slip to the bottom of the ACC Coastal standings.
The Yellow Jackets are now 19-13 and 7-8 in the ACC. There is still time for Tech to turn things around and start playing well, but they need to find answers soon. A series against last-place Virginia Tech is a big opportunity for GT to get some games back.
At the top of the Coastal is Virginia and they showed why they should be considered not only one of the top teams in the conference but one of the top teams in the country with their sweep of Miami this past weekend. The Cavaliers are 11-4 in ACC play and 28-4 overall. UVA will face Pitt this weekend.
After taking two of three from Georgia Tech, North Carolina is in second place in the Coastal (they were also beneficiaries of Miami getting swept). UNC is 8-5 in the ACC and 22-10 overall and they have a big series with Miami this weekend.
Next up is Miami (8-7) and Duke (7-7). Miami blew an opportunity to take first place in the standings and did not look great against Miami, but they have a chance to bounce back against UNC. The Blue Devils split a pair of games with Virginia Tech and they travel to Boston College this weekend.
The bottom of the ACC Coastal is Georgia Tech (7-8), Pitt (5-8), and Virginia Tech (5-9).
On the other side of the conference, Wake Forest still holds the leads with a 12-2 conference record. The Demon Deacons won both games against NC State this past weekend and have a huge series against Louisville upcoming this weekend. The Cardinals are 7-5 in ACC play and 24-7 overall.
Boston College had a tough weekend and got swept by Louisville to drop them to 8-7 in ACC play.
Notre Dame (7-8) won two of three games against Pitt over the weekend and travels to Clemson for a three-game series this weekend.
NC State (5-9), Clemson (4-8), and Florida State (4-11) are the bottom three in the Atlantic.
