Former Georgia Tech Forward Jalon Moore Commits To Oklahoma

Moore was a pivotal player on the bench for Georgia Tech in 2023

Former Georgia Tech forward Jalon Moore announced his transfer decision today.

After entering the portal and opting to not play for new head coach Damon Stoudamire, Moore announced today that he would be transferring to Oklahoma and joining the Sooners program.

Joe Tipton of On3 Sports first reported the news.

Last season, Moore averaged 7.6 PPG and 4.7 RPG on 43% shooting from the floor. He played in 32 games and averaged 20.5 minutes per game.

Guard Deivon Smith, guard Tristan Maxwell, center Cyril Martynov, forward Freds Pauls Bagatskis, forward Jordan Meka, and center Rodney Howard have all entered the transfer portal as well. Howard and Smith have been contributors over the past couple of seasons, but the others had small roles.

Kowacie Reeves (Florida), Ebenezer Dowuona (NC State), Tyzhaun Claude (Western Carolina), Tafara Gapare (UMass), Amaree Abram (Ole Miss), and Jalen Forrest (Presbyterian) are the transfers joining the program this offseason.

I think this is a talented transfer class, but I was counting on Moore being a part of this team as well. I am interested to see if Stoudamire decides to bring in another player to help replace Moore.
