2024 Running Back Duke Watson De-Commits From Georgia Tech

Watson had been taking visits elsewhere in recent weeks

2024 running back Duke Watson announced today on social media that he is de-committing from Georgia Tech and reopening his recruitment. 

Watson had been committed to the Yellow Jackets since March 11th, but he had been taking visits to other schools recently. He was at Ole Miss last weekend and had been to NC State. He holds offers from Boston College, Kansas, Kansas State, Cincinnati, Louisville, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Purdue, UCF, and Vanderbilt. 

Watson is rated as a four-star prospect on the 247Sports Composite, ranking as the 423rd-best player and the 38th-ranked running back.

As a junior, averaged 8.3 yards per carry, totaling 1,669 yards and 14 TD on the ground in 11 games. Also caught 17 passes for 184 yards and 2 TD. Helped Mary Parsons go 6-5 in Georgia’s AAA classification (stats courtesy of 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins).
