Georgia Tech just scored a big recruiting win for the 2024 recruiting class.

Wide receiver prospect Koby Young, who plays at Holy Cross High School in New Orleans, committed to the Yellow Jackets this afternoon and he joins Trey Horne (Rabun Gap, GA) as the other wide receiver in this recruiting class.

This is a massive recruiting win for Georgia Tech to go into Louisiana and get a prospect of this caliber. Young is a borderline four-star player on the 247Sports Composite and the No. 9 player in the state of Louisiana. Young took an official visit to Georgia Tech this summer and is now in their 2024 class.

Young's other offers include Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, Florida State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Texas A&M, among others. That is a powerful list of schools to be competing against and landing a player over those schools is huge for Georgia Tech.

A lot of credit should go to special teams coach Ricky Brumfield for this commitment. Brumfield has been recruiting the area of Louisiana hard and for him to go get a player like this is huge. Wide receivers coach Josh Crawford was instrumental here as well.

Also runs track. In limited junior reps, posted a 22.78 200-meter time in Spring 2023. Ran an 11.47 100 and 200-meter times of 22.53 and 22.59 as a sophomore in Spring 2022. Also posted a 52.51 400. Recorded a 7.31 60-meter dash, a 23.94 200, and a 20-1 long jump in indoor competition in Jan. 2022 (Notes and stats courtesy of 247Sports Gabe Brooks).

2022: Finished junior season with 41-667-4 receiving (16.3 avg), plus 61-327-1 rushing (5.4 ypc). Completed 4 of 5 passes for 119 yards.2021: Produced 14-283-4 receiving (20.2 avg) and 7-42 rushing in seven games as a sophomore (Notes and stats courtesy of 247Sports Gabe Brooks).

Young is now the highest-rated commit in Georgia Tech's class on 247Sports. On 247, Georgia Tech now has the No. 26 overall class nationally and the No. 8 class in the ACC. They are No. 20 overall nationally on Rivals.
