Georgia Tech O-Line Target Gemyel Allen Lists Yellow Jackets In Top Five Schools

Georgia Tech is a finalist for one of their top offensive line targets in 2024

One of the top 2024 targets on the offensive line for Georgia Tech has listed his final five schools and the Yellow Jackets have made the cut.

Gemyel Allen (Mountain View High School, GA) has Georgia Tech among his final five schools along with Duke, Virginia, Vanderbilt, and NC State. The Commodores are the only non-ACC school in Allen's final five.

Allen is a 6'4 298 LBS interior that could be playing guard or center at the next level. Georgia Tech is going to be looking to upgrade along the offensive line, which was the weakest position on either side of the ball in 2022, and put together a strong 2024 class to pair with their 2023 class and get the position going in the direction that head coach Brent Key and new offensive line coach Geep Wade are envisioning.

In the 2023 class, Georgia Tech signed five offensive linemen. They also brought in one transfer (so far).

Allen did visit Georgia Tech on January 28th, the same day that he was offered. The Yellow Jackets held several visits throughout the month of January with some of their top 2024 prospects. Before he visited Georgia Tech, he was in Charlottesville to visit Virginia and one of the rules of recruiting is to follow the visits. It is still early, but based on that, Georgia Tech and Virginia might be the front-runners for Allen.

Georgia Tech currently has one player committed for the 2024 class and that is four-star quarterback Jakhari Williams (Macon, GA). Williams is the guy that Key is going to be building this class around and that is a very good building block.
