Georgia Tech Gets Commitment From 2023 Kicker Logan Weighall

Georgia Tech has added a kicker for its 2023 recruiting class

Georgia Tech has added to its 2023 recruiting class today.

The Yellow Jackets had not added a kicker or specialist for the 2023 class until today and a new kicker is going to be joining the program.

Logan Weighall (Wetumpka, AL) committed to the Yellow Jackets today and he will be the fourth placekicker in the program, joining Gavin Stewart, Aidin Birr, and David Shanahan. Weighall can also punt and that could be his main position. Stewart finished strong as the team's kicker last year and Birr was out for the season with an injury. Weighall will most likely be the kicker or punter for the future.

Special teams and kicking were an issue early in the year last season, but Stewart had a nice finish to the season. If Weighall is mainly a kicker, I would expect a kicking competition to occur right up until the opening game against Louisville.

If he is used as a punter, he could be the replacement for David Shanahan once his eligibility is up.

The Yellow Jackets wrapped up their final signing period last week, but no additions were made for the Yellow Jackets. Brent Key and his staff are going to be working hard on putting together a good 2024 class.
