Georgia Tech Makes The Top Eight For 2024 Cornerback Jivan Baly

Georgia Tech is a finalist for one of their 2024 cornerback targets

One day after earning their second commitment for the 2024 recruiting cycle, Georgia Tech is among the eight finalists for one of their top targets at defensive back.

Jivan Baly (Meadowcreek High School, GA) released his top eight today, and among the eight finalists were the Yellow Jackets.

Baly is a 6'0 170 LBS corner that I think has a high ceiling. He is going to see his rankings rise in this summer and into the fall and Georgia Tech is going to hope to land him.

The other schools that made the top eight for Baly included NC State, Miami, Florida State, Missouri, Kentucky, Louisville, and Texas A&M.

Those schools are going to be tough competition for the in-state corner, but Key and his staff are hoping to position themselves well in this recruitment.

Baly was in Atlanta for a visit in late January and has an official visit scheduled for NC State in June. With NC State the only team that is getting an official visit right now, they could be considered the favorite, though that is just speculation.

Georgia Tech currently has two players committed for the 2024 class and one of them is four-star quarterback Jakhari Williams (Macon, GA). Williams is the guy that Key is going to be building this class around and that is a very good building block alongside running back commit Duke Watson. They will be considered the backfield of the future for Georgia Tech.

Georgia Tech's 2024 recruiting class currently ranks 51st according to 247Sports.

2024 Commitments

  • Jakhari Williams (QB)
  • Duke Watson (RB)
