Brent Key highlights Louisville center Bryan Hudson: "I do know the guy in the middle that snaps the football is a dadgum good football player"

Hudson was voted Preseason All-ACC first team for 2023

It is officially one week until kickoff between Georgia Tech and Louisville.

The Yellow Jackets and Cardinals are going to have the national television spotlight next Friday and both teams are going to be trying to start the season 1-0 under their new head coaches.

One of the leaders on the field for the Cardinals is going to be center Bryan Hudson, who was the preseason first-team center on the All-ACC team for 2023. Hudson is one of the best offensive linemen in the conference and the country and he has caught the eye of the Yellow Jackets head coach already:

"I know they have three returning starters from their team last year and they are really good players. The center is a good player for them, Gonzalez is a good player for them, Brown is a good football player and they have brought in some guys that have some size and experience playing as well so I don't know how they are going to settle out to their five, I don't know if they are going to play six or seven but I do know that the guy in the middle that snaps the ball is a dadgum good football player for them and anytime you have a center like that, like we do that has returning starting experience, its a little bit easier to put those pieces in when you have a leader in the middle that those guys can rally around."

Hudson started all 12 games at center for Louisville last season. With him back in the middle, Hudson hopes to get the Louisville offensive line back to being one of the best in the ACC, something that he talked about at this year's ACC media days:

"I think it all starts with the preparation. Like you all mentioned and what's been talked about, we've brought in a lot of new guys, even into the O-line room even this summer. There are several new faces. A lot of guys with a lot of experience, both newcomers and returners that have played a lot of ball. That's a big plus. It makes my job a little bit easier being the center and being in more of a leadership role that the guys, they don't need to be babysat or anything like that. They all have that motor. They all have that motive and commitment level that is required to accomplish that as an offensive line."

Georgia Tech has talked about how it feels it has good players and depth on the interior of the defensive line with D'Quan Douse, Makius Scott, and Zeek Biggers. All of those players are going to have a challenge when it comes to facing Hudson next Friday night in Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Georgia Tech vs. Louisville will kick off next Friday at 7:30 on ESPN.
