This is not going to be news to Georgia Tech fans, but the Yellow Jackets are once again going to be playing not only one of the toughest schedules in the ACC but in the entire country.

CBS Sports college football analyst Chip Patterson recently ranked the toughest schedules in the ACC and it was indeed Georgia Tech that came out on top.

Here is what Patterson had to say about the upcoming 2023 schedule for Georgia Tech:

"Even in the post-division era, the Yellow Jackets must face both Clemson and Georgia on an annual basis. Those two programs have combined to play in seven of the last eight national title games. This year, they also have the back end of a series with Ole Miss and a conference schedule that includes North Carolina, Miami and Louisville. That season opener against the Cardinals will be played in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which leaves Georgia Tech with just three true home games in conference play"

CBS is not the only site ranking Georgia Tech's schedule among the nation's toughest, ESPN's FPI is too.

Given that the Yellow Jackets are going to be playing Georgia and Clemson every season for the foreseeable future and those programs are among the country's best. On top of those teams, Georgia Tech will face potential top 50 teams like Ole Miss (who has the toughest projected schedule according to FPI), North Carolina, Miami, Syracuse, Louisville, and Wake Forest.

Seven of Georgia Tech's 12 opponents made bowl games last season, with Georgia winning the national championship and Clemson the ACC.

This is the first year in the ACC with no divisions and the first year of the new 3-5-5 scheduling model. Georgia Tech's permanent opponents in this new model are Clemon, Wake Forest, and Louisville.

Georgia Tech's projected win total in Vegas for the 2023 season is currently at 4.5 (according to Caesars Sportsbook). Part of that low projection is the tough schedule. It will be up to Brent Key and this Yellow Jackets team to prove everyone wrong and make a bowl game and have a winning season for the first time since 2018.
