Georgia Tech Football Transfer Profile: Jordan Brown

Could Jordan Brown start on the offensive line for Georgia Tech?

After taking multiple transfers along the offensive line last season, Georgia Tech only took one this season and it was Charlotte transfer, Jordan Brown.

Brown is light on experience, but I think he could have a chance to make an impact somewhere along the line. With guys like Jordan Williams, Jakiah Leftwich, Wing Green, and Tyler Gibson back at tackle, I am wondering if Brown will compete at guard or even center this spring and that is one thing that I am interested in watching this spring.

It is no secret that Georgia Tech was not very good on the offensive line last season, but it should be noted that they were young up front. On PFF (Pro Football Focus), Georgia Tech finished with a 42.8 grade on pass blocking (13th worst in the country) and a 50.8 run-blocking grade (21st worst in the country. For this offense to improve this season, this unit needs to take a step forward.

At the guard position, Georgia Tech is dealing with a few departures this offseason. Pierce Quick decided not to finish his playing career and Paula Vaipulu transferred. Joe Fusile is back at guard and Williams did move inside to play guard towards the end of last season, but Brown coming in could mean he is going to compete at guard and potentially start.

Brown redshirted during his first season in 2021 and got his first playing time last season, although he only played 62 total snaps according to PFF. At 6'5 320, he has the size to play multiple positions and will be a guy to watch over the course of the spring and into the fall.
