It has been a great preseason for former Georgia Tech safety Juanyeh Thomas and that has resulted in Thomas making the final roster for the Dallas Cowboys today.

Thomas has been making plays since the start of camp and has emerged as one of the leaders for Dallas this preseason.

It has been quite the leap for Thomas this year. The former Yellow Jacket went undrafted last year and spent the season on the practice squad before being signed to a futures/reserve contract during the offseason.

Being an ace on special teams is always a key for guys on the bubble of making the roster for an NFL team and according to McCarthy, Thomas has shined in that area. He is a physical player that seems to be getting better with NFL coaching. Playing for one of the NFL's best defensive coordinators in Dan Quinn is also a huge plus.

In one preseason game, Thomas got the start at safety and made the most of his opportunity, intercepting a pass from Trevor Lawrence, one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.

During Thomas's last season on The Flats in 2021, he set a career-high in tackles with 81 and had one sack and two forced fumbles.

Thomas is going to help the Cowboys remain one of the best defenses in the NFL this season and I think he is only scratching the surface of his potential in the NFL.
