Two Yellow Jackets make On3 Sports Midseason Freshman All-American Team

Eric Singleton Jr and Ethan Mackenny are playing well this season

The college football season is at its midway point and that means that it is time for midseason awards and midseason lists.

Georgia Tech has had its ups and downs so far this season, but two big bright spots for the Yellow Jackets have been the play of two true freshmen. Wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr and left tackle Ethan Mackenny. Both of these players have become starters and today, they were named to On3 Sports Midseason True Freshman All-American Teams.

Singleton leads the Yellow Jackets in receiving with 355 yards on 20 catches and he has five touchdowns this season, averaging nearly 18 yards per catch. He is currently seventh in the ACC in receiving yards and second in touchdowns. He has given this team much-needed speed at the position and looks like a future superstar.

Mackenny took over at left tackle in the first game of the season against Louisville and has not looked back. He has started every game since and while there have been ups and downs, he has performed well for a true freshman offensive lineman.

Georgia Tech is 3-3 after their big win over Miami and both Mackenny and Singelton have played a huge role in helping get this team to try and make a bowl game for the first time since 2018. They have bright futures as Yellow Jackets and are only going to get better.

The Yellow Jackets are off this week and return to the field at home against Boston College next Saturday at 12:00 p.m. on the ACC Network.
