What Are The Top Landing Spots For Keion White In Round Two of 2023 NFL Draft?
Keion White had hoped to be the first Yellow Jacket taken in the first round since Demaryius Thomas and Derrick Morgan were in 2010, but that is not what happened tonight.
White was one of the attendees at tonight's draft, but he did not hear his name called by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. He will no doubt be one of the top names on the board for day two and I don't expect White to be on the board long tomorrow.
But what teams could be looking to add the versatile defensive lineman?
The truth is, any team in the second round could use a player as versatile as White, but there are some intriguing teams to look at tomorrow.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are starting day two of the draft with the 32nd pick and after getting a tackle to bolster their offensive line in round one, they could look to add White to their defensive front. They did have a pre-draft visit with the Yellow Jackets defensive lineman:
'It would be a great situation for White to go and be coached by one of the leagues best head coaches in Mike Tomlin and get to play alongside guys like T.J Watt and Cameron Hayward.
The Cardinals and Lions have picks No. 33 and No.34 respectively and both were thought to be looking to add defensive lineman in the first round, but neither elected too. White could be their pick if the Steelers elect to pass on him.
Seattle at No. 37 could be an interesting team to watch. They took Illinois cornerback Devon Witherspoon with the fifth pick and Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba with their two selections in the first round and in mock drafts, defensive line has been a big need for the Seahawks.
After 37, you might have to go down a bit to find a team with a pass rushing need and fit. The Atlanta Falcons are that team at No. 44 and it would be a good story for White to stay in Atlanta and play for the Falcons. They have needed defensive line help for years and White could give new defensive coordinator Ryan Nielson a versatile piece to use on the new look Falcons front.
I think those are the teams that I am looking at the hardest for White tomorrow. Obviously, one of the teams I did not list could take him if he falls or a team could trade up.
White played in all 12 games for Georgia Tech last season and led the team with 7.5 sacks and was named third-team All-ACC.
