An interesting development concerning Georgia Tech broke out tonight.

According to a report from the AJC, Georgia Tech is in discussions to sell the naming rights to Grant Field at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field. Also in the report, the AJC says that "It is believed that Hyundai, which is building a $5.5 billion electric vehicle plant near Savannah, is the corporation with interest in purchasing the rights to the name of the field at the stadium".

The AJC also reported that the name of the stadium is not for sale.

This is certainly an interesting development for Georgia Tech and this is not something that is new across college football. Just in the ACC, Louisville, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, and Miami have sold the naming rights to their stadiums as well and it looks like Georgia Tech possibly could be next in line.

Georgia Tech is going to kick off the 2023 season in less than two months on Friday, Sept. 1st against Louisville in Mercedes Benz Stadium. The game will be at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN.
