2024 Four-star Georgia Tech target Kylan Fox makes college decision
Georgia Tech has done well on the recruiting trail as of late, but one of their targets came off the board today and he will not be heading to Atlanta.
Four-star athlete/tight end Kylan Fox, who plays at Grayson High School in Georgia, made his commitment today and he is heading to Orlando to play for Gus Malzahn and UCF. Fox took official visits to Georgia Tech, UCF, and Florida State, and while the Yellow Jackets were holding out hope that he would choose to stay in-state, he is heading to play in the Big 12.
Here is the scouting report on Fox from 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins:
"A two-way player on Friday nights that has gotten snaps at both tight end and edge rusher. Has the desired measurements as he’s over 6-foot-4 and blessed with some additional length in the arms. Flashed on the defensive side of the ball as a sophomore in the Peach State’s highest classification, but started to bill himself as more of a tight end after a junior campaign in which he caught 25 passes for 326 yards and two scores. As a route runner, uses lanky stride to get across the field and find holes in zone coverage. Owns a bigger catch radius, but needs to keep improving the hands. Must also learn how to consistently find leverage if he’s going to be a true in-line player on Saturdays. As a defender, has showcased the ability to get around the corner and get home as he uses a nice forward lean to generate momentum. However, will need to keep progressing and learn how to formulate a plan as a pass rusher if his primary goal one day will be to pressure opposing quarterbacks. Overall, should be viewed as big athlete with some tools to work with. A case could be made that his ceiling might be highest on defense given length and burst, but had his moments as a pass catcher spring before senior season on the camp circuit."
Losing Fox to UCF stings, but it should not put a damper on what has been a successful summer for the coaching and recruiting staff.
Yesterday, Georgia Tech pulled a big flip by getting four-star wide receiver Isiah Canion to join the Yellow Jacket's 2024 class and de-commit from Notre Dame.
GT has a top-25 class as of today and could be adding more to its 21 commitments. Defensive back target Christian Pritchett and four-star cornerback target Troy Stevenson have their commitment dates upcoming and the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions favor Georgia Tech heading into next week.
