Wimbledon Odds: Chris Eubanks opens as a massive underdog vs Daniil Medvedev
Former Georgia Tech tennis star Chris Eubanks has been on a spectacular run through the 2023 Wimbledon Tournament so far this season and he is going to be facing the No. 3 player in the world, Daniil Medvedev, on Wednesday.
He is going to be facing him as a heavy underdog too.
According to the Action Network, Medvedev is -355 to win Wednesday's match, while Eubanks is +420 to win the match.
Eubanks is +4000 on Caesar's Sportsbook to win Wimbledon.
Wednesday's match is going to be the toughest test for Eubanks yet. Medvedev is a tremendous player and some think he is the top threat to dethrone Novak Djokovic this year. Eubanks is going to have to play his best match yet to advance to the semifinals.
Before he turned pro in 2017, he was a two-time All-American on The Flats and became the first Yellow Jacket and fifth conference player ever to earn ACC Player of the Year twice.
Became fifth student-athlete to be a three-time All-ACC honoree. He earned USTA/ITA Sportsmanship Award in 20116 and 2017 ITA Arthur Ashe, Jr. Leadership and Sportsmanship Award. He finished tied-fifth in all-time career wins (90) while finishing 10th in career win percentage (.732). Eubanks finished tied-second in season wins (34 – 2015-16) and tied-fourth in dual matches (21 – 2015-16) and he ranks third all-time at Georgia Tech with 21 doubles dual match victories in 2015-16 (Per ramblinwreck.com).
