A member of the Runnin' Rebels football program will get a shot to play professionally in Canada. Defensive lineman Ben Key has been invited to participate in the Canadian Football League's Global Combine later this month.

Key spent his first two seasons of college at Missouri, but spent 2022 and 2023 in Las Vegas. The 6'3", 315-pound Key appeared in two college games, registering three total tackles.

Differing from the NFL, the CFL has several different combines. The CFL Global Combine was established for the purpose of evaluating prospects originally from outside Canada and the United States. Key is originally from Cranbourne West, Australia, but immigrated to Los Angeles as a teenager.

Players from those areas are then eligible to be selected in the CFL Global Draft, scheduled for April 30 - the same day as the 2024 CFL Draft, which is primarily Canadians and Americans prospects.

The CFL Global Combine and the league's main combine are scheduled for March 18-24 in Winnipeg.
