Indiana Women's Basketball Holds Same Associated Press Poll Rank in Week 17
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — There was lots of movement in Week 17's Associated Press Top 25 Poll, but not for Indiana women's basketball as it remains at No. 2 despite falling to Iowa 86-85 on Sunday.
What saved the Hoosiers from falling down in the polls was Iowa getting beat bad 96-68 by Maryland in College Park on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Terrapins had a great week first defeating the Hawkeyes and then defeating No. 16 Ohio State on the road by two points on Friday. Maryland ended its regular season on a six-game winning streak, which moved it up two spots to No. 5 in Week 17.
Iowa guard Caitlin Clark's buzzer beating three-pointer was impressive over Indiana, but the Hawkeyes still moved down one spot to No. 7 due to the Maryland loss.
Ohio State moved up two spots this week as it beat No. 12 Michigan 74-61 in Ann Arbor on Monday before falling to Maryland Friday.
Michigan rounds out the Big Ten ranked schools as it got bumped down five slots to No. 17 with its Ohio State loss plus its Wisconsin defeat on Sunday to finish out the regular season.
