2024 New York Native Forward Sydney Fenn Commits to Indiana Women's Basketball
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana women's basketball is already looking ahead to the 2024 season as the program received a commitment from 6-foot-3 forward Sydney Fenn out of Buffalo, N.Y. via her Twitter account.
Fenn first received an offer from the Hoosiers in May 2023 after she visited Bloomington and spent time with the coaching staff along with rising senior guard Sydney Parrish and fifth year forward Mackenzie Holmes.
The 2024 recruit out of AZ Compass Prep has received offers from Canisius College, UMass, Saint Joseph's, Binghampton, Monmouth, St. Bonaventure, Vermont, Penn, Pitt, Cornell, Buffalo, etc.
Fenn tweeted a statement on her pledge to Indiana and pinned it to her Twitter account. The announcement has already reached almost 80,000 people.
"I want to thank all the coaches that have worked with me over the years, especially my dad, Jaamal, Jeremy, Chad & Jackie. Without them, I would not be the person or player I am today. Their relentless effort to make all their kids better is the reason why I am where I am right now.
"I want to thank my family for being so supportive throughout this whole process and never letting my goals become unrealistic. Without their love and support, I don't know where or who I would be. Thank you dad for helping me follow in your footsteps...your work ethic has taught me how to really fight and achieve what I want in life.
"And thank you Momma and Lexi for the hours of driving and the time you have spent sitting in gyms all over the country for the past 10 years.
"Thank you Coach Moren and Coach Rhet for believing in me and making me a part of the family. The minute I stepped on campus, it felt like home...With that being said, I am excited to announce I have committed to Indiana University to further my basketball career. Go Hoosiers <3 <3."
So far, Fenn and Indian Creek High School forward Faith Wiseman are the only two recruits for the 2024 season.
