BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — After a phenomenal regular season finish, Indiana women's basketball head coach Teri Moren is your Big Ten Coach of the Year, the league announced Tuesday.

This is Moren's second time with the honor as she first won it in her second season during the 2015-16 campaign. She's only the second Hoosier coach to achieve this honor, let alone twice.

In her ninth season coaching the Hoosiers, Moren led her team to a Big Ten regular season title for the first time since 1983 with a 16-2 conference record. The Hoosiers are the outright champs after defeating Purdue 83-60 last Sunday and Maryland beat Iowa to tie the Hawkeyes for a second place conference finish.

Overall, the Hoosiers are 26-2, which set a new record for program wins and tied for the most Big Ten wins in program history. Moren's team also leads the nation with nine top 25 and five top 10 wins over ranked opponents.

Joining Moren in the Big Ten awards group is senior forward Mackenzie Holmes, who is the Big's Defensive Player of the Year. Graduate student guard Grace Berger and Holmes both earned a spot on the first team All-Big Ten while junior guard Chloe Moore-McNeil was named to second team.

Junior guard Sydney Parrish, freshman guard Yarden Garzon and senior guard Sara Scalia earned honorable mention awards.

Up next, Indiana will head to Target Center in Minneapolis to compete in the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament from March 1-5.
