In this story:

During the 100 days leading up to Kansas football, we are previewing and predicting the uniform choices for KU three times, evenly dividing out the schedule and picking apart what the Jayhawks might wear, what they should wear, and what would make the “best looking game” from an aesthetic standpoint.

We’ve already spouted off about what they should wear in the opening eight matches, and you can find those pieces by clicking here and here. Kansas also introduced a clean new set of blue and white-centric uniforms, and we analyzed the new threads here. Today, we go through the final four games of the 2023 Kansas football schedule as the Jayhawks finish the regular season.

Since KU will likely wear a majority of blue at home and lots of white away from Lawrence, I’ll mimic what I did in the last installment which is add in what I thought they’d wear prior to the new uniform unveil, just to give you a sense of what I thought might be going through the minds of those that choose what the gridiron Jayhawks wear.

Game Nine: November 4 at Iowa State

This would be the perfect game for KU to use some blue on the road. Blue helmet? Great. Blue pants? Nice. Both? Even better.

What they could and should wear: Blue helmet, white jersey, blue pants

What they will wear: Let’s go with what I have above. It’s too good not to wear.

What they might’ve worn: All white is a pretty good bet here, even with all the previous choices.

Iowa State should be in a lot of red and yellow in Ames in early November. That’s such a nice color combo, but Iowa State has worn grey at home and they’ve also worn black, so who knows. My preference is something traditional like red, red, gold to clash with KU’s blue and white look. That would be a very pleasing game to the eye.

Game 10: November 11 v Texas Tech

This is the “Salute to Service” game for Kansas and that means they should wear those sweet fauxbacks that are inspired by a fighter jet, but I’m not sure they’ll keep those in the uni-cycle. If they do wear them, this means that Kansas could possibly wear white jerseys at home again, but it’s not as likely as it was before the unveiling of the new set. It’s a shame because that uni is such a good look that they should wear those bad boys if they're going to do a military tribute.Maybe they’ll surprise us.

What they should wear: White helmet, white jersey, blue pants (military tribute threads)

What they will wear: All blue

What they might’ve worn: White helmet, white jersey, blue pants (military tribute threads)

If KU does wear their white shirt at home, this opens up a lot of possibilities for the Red Raiders. Since they rarely get to wear colorful jerseys on the road, might Tech try something a little different? I say we see lots of red from a team called the red raiders. Mono red would be good. If KU goes with the traditional blue, Tech could still wear two thirds red and look sharp.

Note: There has also been mention of a throwback game to when KU wore navy blue in the early 2000's.  This is the twentieth anniversary of the Bill Whittemore Tangerine Bowl berth, so maybe we'll see them.  I think this would be an ideal game for that, especially if they have nixed the military themed garb.

Game 11: November 18 v Kansas State

This is a rivalry game with a chance to once again assert dominance over your home state, and the Kansas Jayhawks should look as traditional as possible in this game. In my original draft, I said this: I want to see no red elements in the uniform set except for stripes, logos, and outlines. I’m pleased to say that this is very likely now!

What they could and should wear: Blue helmet, blue jersey, white pants

What they will wear: Tradition rules and KU wears blue, blue, white!

What they might’ve worn: Something far worse

I think it would be cool if KSU wore their nice looking all white retro uniforms, but they’ll most likely be boring and wear a silver helmet and pants with a white jersey. Heck, I’d even be excited to see purple pants. Or lavender. That's it! Full lavender for KSU. Now, I want to see it happen.

Game 12: November 25 at Cincinnati

The final regular season game sees Kansas travel to Ohio to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats. What will they wear? Before the uniform rebrand, I honestly had very few guesses here, but avoiding red as Cincy might be wearing plenty was a necessity. Now that KU has teased the all whites as a regular away uniform, I’ll welcome that look for this game even though there are better combos available.

What they could wear: White helmet, white jersey, blue pants

What they will wear: All white

What they might’ve worn: Something red even though it makes no sense for Kansas to wear red on the road against a team whose primary color is red.

The Bearcats should wear as much red and black as possible. I don’t care if it's red over black or the opposite, just make the combination daring in the face of a lot of white (probably) from Kansas.
