Jerod and Jacob Smith are twin brothers who were born and raised in Kentucky but moved out of state to play high school football.

They are both back to play their senior season in the Bluegrass State for Corbin.

The issue for Mark Stoops is that they are both currently committed to Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines.

But over the last few weeks, the Wildcats are picking up steam and have a real shot to flip the talented twins from their Big 10 pledge.

Jerod Smith is the 222nd-best player in the 2024 class according to 247Sports composite rankings. In 247Sports rankings, they have the talented defensive lineman ranked 141 in the class.

247Sports has Jacob Smith ranked 238th in the composite rankings. He is ranked only four sports higher than this in the 247Sports rankings.

Composite rankings are compiled from all of the recruiting services, so both of these players are ranked higher on 247Sports than on other platforms.

Jerod is a six-foot-three 265-pound defensive lineman, while Jacob is a six-foot-four 230-pound edge rusher.

If Stoops and company were able to flip the Smith brothers, not only would the Wildcats be getting two blue-chip players, but they would also be getting guys who can come in and have an immediate impact.

Multiple crystal balls have been put in across various recruiting platforms, making me feel confident the Wildcats will flip the Smith brothers.

Flipping two blue-chip recruits from a powerhouse like Michigan would be massive for Kentucky's 2024 recruiting class.
