Kentucky moves up to a No. 4 seed in 2024 NCAA Tournament Bracketology from ESPN

The Kentucky Wildcats move up to a four seed in Joe Lunardi's latest Bracketology report for ESPN.

The Kentucky Wildcats continue to climb not only in the AP Poll but in the 2024 March Madness bracketology predictions.

The latest from ESPN's Joe Lunardi has John Calipari's Wildcats up to a No. 4 seed in the Midwest region, where they would take on the No. 13 seed Indiana Hoosiers.

It's unusual to see Indiana, or any Power-6 program, seeded so low, but Lunardi's prediction has them as the automatic qualifier in the Big Ten, presumably sporting a non-tournament resume but defeating Purdue and winning the Big Ten championship, hence the lower seed.

Should Kentucky advance past Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers, they would face the winner of a 5-12 matchup between Oklahoma and Indiana State. From there they'd likely face Purdue, the No. 1 seed in the Midwest region, unless either No. 8 Virginia or No. 9 Dayton were able to pull off an upset.

Kentucky is one of nine SEC teams in the Field of 68, the most of any conference. Only Tennessee (No. 2) is a higher seed than Kentucky, with the other seven teams as follows: Auburn (No. 5) Alabama (No. 6) Texas A&M (No. 6) Ole Miss (No. 7) Florida (No. 10) Mississippi State (No. 10) and South Carolina (No. 11).

Should the Wildcats finish first or second in the SEC, and if they can pick up a huge non-conference win against Gonzaga in February, this program could easily be in the conversation for a three or even a two seed with a great opportunity to really make some noise this March.
