The award watchlists are rolling in, and despite chugging through a bit of a slump, Kentucky center Oscar Tshiebwe is still seeing his name up for a few awards.

On Friday, the Basketball Hall of Fame announced the top 10 candidates for the 2023 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award, including Tshiebwe, who won the award a year ago:

  • Oumar Ballo - Arizona
  • Ryan Kalkbrenner - Creighton
  • Oscar Tshiebwe - Kentucky
  • Hunter Dickinson - Michigan
  • Armando Bacot - North Carolina
  • Zach Edey - Purdue
  • Clifford Omoruyi - Rutgers
  • Joel Soriano - St. John's
  • Adama Sanogo - UConn
  • Jack Nunge - Xavier

The award recognizes the top center in college basketball. The list will be shrunk to five finalists in March. Tshiebwe — who's averaging 15.5 points and 13.3 rebounds-per-game — was named to the Naismith Award Midseason Team earlier this week.

Tshiebwe and the Cats will look to get back on track this Saturday in Athens as they look for a season sweep over the Georgia Bulldogs. Tipoff is set for noon EST and will air on ESPN.
