WATCH: Reed Sheppard's first basket in a Kentucky uniform was a monster slam
Every Kentucky fan was excited about the start of Reed Sheppard's career at Kentucky, thanks to the legacy left by his mom and dad, who both played for the Wildcats.
In his first college basketball game, Sheppard is off to a red-hot start with eight points, three rebounds, one assist, one block, and two steals.
Sheppard is truly the do-it-all man for the Cats as he can score, rebound, and has helped play suffocating defense, leading to points off turnover for the Cats.
On Sheppard's first college basket, he poked the ball away from a New Mexico State player, and DJ Wagner grabbed the ball. Wagner then threw it to a wide-open Sheppard, who threw it down with authority.
This dunk by Sheppard sent Rupp Arena into a frenzy.
Sheppard played the most bench minutes in the first half with 11, which shows you how significant his role will be for the Cats this season.
Let's take a look at some of the highlights from Sheppard's first half playing in Rupp Arena, where he filled up the stat sheet.
