The No. 1 recruit in the 2025 class talks about Kentucky recruitment

AJ Dybantsa talks about possibly ending up in Lexington.
In this story:

Kentucky head coach John Calipari has developed a reputation for being one of the best recruiters in college basketball and that has proven to be true once again.

AJ Dybantsa, the highest-rated recruit in the class of 2025, has generated a lot of interest from the Wildcats. Dybantsa, a 6-foot-9, 200-pound small forward, attends Prolific Prep in Napa, California.

According to 247Sports, Dybantsa is a 5-star recruit with a 1.000 composite rating. He is the top-ranked player nationally, the top-ranked small forward and the top-ranked player in the state of California.

In a 247Sports article written by Travis Branham, Dybantsa talked about what makes Kentucky an attractive option for him.

"Terrence [Clarke] went there so he told me about them, what I can be and position-wise they produce a lot of pros so it's a good option," Dybantsa said.

Other than Kentucky, several top programs are in the running to land Dybantsa's talents. These programs include the Auburn Tigers, Baylor Bears, North Carolina Tar Heels and USC Trojans.

Dybantsa visited USC back in October and has a visit to Auburn scheduled for the weekend of March 2 when the Tigers host the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
