Croatian big man Zvonimir Ivisic took a step in the right direction eligibility wise as he was admitted to the University of Kentucky
It was reported early Wednesday morning by Ben Roberts of the Herald-Leader that Croatian big man Zvonimir Ivisic has been admitted to the University of Kentucky.
This does not guarantee he is eligible to play this season, as he still has to be cleared by the NCAA as an amateur.
Getting "Big Z" admitted to UK seemed like the more pressing issue for now, so it's great that he finally got into school, but there are still a few steps that have to be taken before he can suit up for John Calipari's squad.
Ivisic is a unicorn on the court and can do everything from scoring down low to blocking shots, and the seven-footer can even shoot threes.
The eligibility of Ivisic will be essential for this 2023-24 Kentucky basketball roster, as depth in the front court will be a big concern if he isn't able to play for the Cats.
The news that Ivisic is officially admitted to the University of Kentucky is exciting, but there is still an uphill battle to fight for him to play his college ball in Lexington.
Hopefully, some more positive reports will follow this, and we will see the Croatian Sensation on the court sooner than later.
The ceiling of this Kentucky basketball team raises a few feet if Ivisic can get on the court.
If the NCAA is going to deem him eligible, hopefully, they do it soon so Ivisic can build a connection with the team.
