Every ESPN Analyst Picks UConn to Beat Miami in Final Four
Blink and you would have missed it.
But before ESPN wrapped up its “College Gameday” event outside of NRG Stadium, the site of the men’s Final Four this weekend, the crew on-site and several other staffers not on the scene made predictions for each of the national semifinal games on Saturday evening.
For the first matchup, Florida Atlantis versus San Diego State, the Aztecs were the popular pick but a few analysts see the Owls making yet another upset (and potentially setting up an all south Florida final should Miami match a weekend win).
For the Miami and UConn matchup, however, it was a clean sweep for the Huskies. ESPN even brought a Husky on set to re-emphasize their selections. Seven different analysts, plus the fan vote, all leaned towards Connecticut over Miami.
The picks against The U included calls from Dick Vitale, Jay Will, Sean Farnham, Scott Drew, LaPhonso Ellis, Seth Davis and of course Jay Billas. Vitale has been vocal about his support for the Hurricanes through several stops during the tournament, even joking about the university’s football school perception.
Miami and UConn will tip shortly after the first semifinal wraps up, with the current projection around 8:49 pm ET.
