The Miami Hurricanes are now 3-0 and facing their first road test of the 2023 football schedule. The game day weather might not be so good, but the Canes still hold a decisive talent advantage over the Owls.

Game Day: Where to Watch Miami Hurricanes at Temple Owls

Here's how the All Hurricanes staff sees the game turning out:

Miami will struggle with the wind and the weather, but the Canes will also blow away the Owls. Temple’s rushing defense is not good. Allowing 254 yards on the ground to Rutgers, that’s a bad sign with Miami coming to town.

Hurricanes running back Henry Parrish, Jr. goes for 90 yards and a score, Ajay Allen another 70 yards and a score, and the two ball carriers run through some big lanes opened by the offensive line and tight ends.

Miami will also connect on a few play-action passes that create momentum and chunk-yardage plays. Look for the Miami defense to harass Temple signal caller E.J. Warner, too.

He’s getting sacked three times – with freshman Rueben Bain, Jr. gaining the second of his career – and hit several more. Miami will control the vast majority of this game, even with difficult weather conditions.

Alex Donno, Podcaster: Miami 24, Temple 6

Poor weather is expected (heavy wind and rain), and that's why my score pick is low. Rainy, muddy conditions will give Miami's offensive line a chance to shine. They are built for the muck! I expect running back Don Chaney to have an increased role after an impressive performance in Week 3. Even if Mark Fletcher isn't back yet from Injury, the combination of Henry Parrish, Ajay Allen and Chaney will be more than enough.

On the defensive side, expect Rueben Bain, Jr. to have a big game as the true freshman gets more and more comfortable with the college speed. Bain, Nyjalik Kelly and Jahfari Harvey can provide the pressure needed to keep Owls quarterback EJ Warner from getting comfortable. Warner is averaging just 52.5 percent completions on the season.

Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke will just need to take care of the football and hit some key completions to keep the chains moving.

The Temple Owls may be taking a breath of fresh air knowing that potential weather could impact the Hurricanes' game plan as far as passing goes. But they shouldn't. The Hurricanes have a strong running game that can chew up chunks of yards. Through three games, the Hurricanes have held onto the ball well with no fumbles on the ground. I can envision a game where we see Miami dominate on the ground.

I do expect Miami's defense to be a major factor. The Hurricanes' front seven will have to keep an eye on true freshman tailback Joquez Smith, who is averaging over seven yards per carry.

Nonetheless, the Hurricanes have shown an ability to be dominant in their ballgames and I expect that same ability to show up against the Owls and I don't anticipate the game to be close despite the bad weather, should it arise.

Miami may be (quietly) in ACC championship game talks, but I'm still not totally sold on their defense or run game enough to foresee a blowout. Offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson is an air raid guy and the 'Canes don't really have a standout ball carrier to tote the rock. That could lead to this one taking longer than expected and giving Temple more chances with the ball than Miami might like.

Rutgers held this Owls squad to just 7 points in Week 2, so letting up more than one or two touchdowns should be considered troublesome for the U. All that being said, quarterback Tyler Van Dyke should have his way with the Temple defense and put the Hurricanes ahead early enough to be comfortable.

Liam Willerup, Writer: Miami 40, Temple 17

The talk of the game continues to be how will the weather affect the outcome with a storm expected to be in the area throughout the game? However, a little weather shouldn't make much difference in who's walking away victorious in this contest.

Shannon Dawson has played around the first three games with how he's attacked opposing defenses, and shouldn't have any problem pounding the run game if need be. However, it's been the passing game that has been humming for the Hurricanes and I don't imagine Dawson will shy away from it due to the weather.

If Miami is able to keep putting pressure on E.J. Warner, who has only been sacked nine times in his career, it should be a game the Hurricanes win by the end of the first half.

Corey Carmona, a.k.a. Chalupa Batman, Podcaster: Miami 38, Temple 10

While Temple is known for being a tough, gritty team, the Canes offensive and defensive lines are the cornerstone of their success so far in 2023 and I expect more of the same in Week 3.

Coach Lance Guidry’s ability to create pressure with creative stunts and blitzes imbibed with the speed Miami has on defense will prove to be a problem for Temple’s offense. I can see the defense recording their highest sack total this week, especially if Tyler Van Dyke and the offense get out to a early lead, allowing the defense to pin their ears back and come after Temple quarterback E.J. Warner
