Series History: Miami leads the series 13-1 and has won the last 13 meetings. The last game between Miami and Temple was in 2005. The Canes triumphed 34-3, as Hurricanes quarterback Kyle Wright went 9 of 10 for 196 yards and 4 touchdowns. Wide receiver Sinorice Moss caught 3 passes for 122 yards and one of Wright’s touchdown passes, a 92-yard play that was the second play from scrimmage for the Canes.

Miami Trends: Versus Texas A&M and Bethune-Cookman, Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke has completed 40 of his 53 of his passes, for 75.5%, 7 touchdowns and no interceptions.

During that same two-game stretch, the Hurricanes offense has been tremendously efficient during third down conversion opportunities. Miami has overcome 10 of 18 third down scenarios for a 55.6% conversion rate.

Defensively, the Canes have given up just 14.3 points per game this season. The key component for the Hurricanes’ success would have been the rush defense. Miami has allowed only 60.3 yards rushing per contest, which has been good for #8 in the nation, as well as just 2.2 yards per carry.

To that point, the Miami defense will face Temple running back Joquez Smith. He’s carried 24 times for 187 yards, a 7.8 average, and one touchdown so far this year. Smith played for Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit and is a true freshman.
