What a difference one year can make, huh? The Miami Hurricanes were unsuccessful at running the football consistently last season, and certainly could not protect quarterback Tyler Van Dyke.

The result was a 5-7 record during a season in which Van Dyke was injured not once but twice.

This season has been an about face for the now #18 ranked Canes, as well as Van Dyke. Here’s been on fire and that’s been noticed by many onlookers across the media and NFL teams. One of them would be Pro Football Focus, an organization that has ranked each of the FBS quarterbacks.

Van Dyke has been rated college football’s No. 1 signal caller through four games:

Anyone that’s truly paid attention to how Van Dyke has been throwing the football knows that he’s returned to being a talented passer. Further, the redshirt-junior quarterback had made several clutch passes that allowed PFF and other media outlets to know he’s a big-time player when it mattered most.

If the Hurricanes' trigger man can continue on this path, the Miami offense will flourish, the team will compete for the ACC title and possibly more, and his NFL Draft stock will rise.

It’s been a great rebound for Van Dyke. He’s earned praise from PFF and every other organization that’s lauded him.
