Buckeyes Blowout Western Kentucky, Move on to Notre Dame
The No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes (3-0) took care of business in a big way on Saturday against Western Kentucky in Columbus, blowing out the Hilltoppers 63-10 at Ohio Stadium.
In many ways, it was a coming-out party for newly-anointed unquestioned starting quarterback Kyle McCord, who tossed three touchdown passes, to go along with 19 of 23 completions for 318 yards.
On the receiving end of McCord's big day, were the usual suspects, with Marvin Harrison Jr. catching five passes for 126 yards and a touchdown, and Emeka Egbuka catching four for 57 yards and the other two scores.
Even backup Devin Brown got in on the action, tossing his first career touchdown pass on a 28-yard score to Carnell Tate.
The offense also got going on the ground, with star back Treyveon Henderson rushing 13 times for 88 yards and two touchdowns, with Chip Traynum adding another one on a long score in the second quarter.
Suffice it to say, the 63-10 offensive explosion felt like the Buckeyes offense that fans have become accustomed to over in the Ryan Day era.
Now, however, Ohio State must turn its attention to their first real test of the season, when they head to South Bend to take on the No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Notre Dame Stadium.
The Irish will be coming off of their own tune-up game, blowing out Central Michigan 41-17 to move to 4-0 on the season.
Kick-off between the Irish and Buckeyes is set for 7:30 PM ET, with ESPN's College Game Day in tow.
