For the second time Saturday, the Ohio State Buckeyes landed a commitment from a Glenville High School product.

Class of 2024 four-star tight end Damarion Witten announced his commitment to Ohio State, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, joining Tarblooders teammate cornerback Bryce West who committed earlier in the day. Witten — who has a good last name for a tight end — picked the Buckeyes over Oregon, Kentucky, Michigan, Texas and Tennessee among others, telling Fawcett he dreamed of committing to Ohio State “since I was a baby.”

“The coaching staff really stood out to me the most,” Witten told Fawcett. “The way they are treating me and my family is great. I also love the way the TE coaches are active with the team.”

Witten said he has a good relationship with tight ends coach Keenan Bailey, whom he told On3 has maintained contact with him since his promotion from his graduate assistant role.

“He plans on using me how they use Cade but more.”

The Cleveland native is the No. 347 player nationally, the No. 19 tight end and the No. 11 player in the Buckeye State, according to 247Sports Composite.

Witten was in Columbus on an official visit this weekend.

The 6-4, 215-pound tight end is the second to commit to Ohio State in the 2024 cycle, joining four-star Max LeBlanc.
