Ohio State Buckeyes Even Score vs. Michigan Wolverines On Smash-Mouth Drive
The Ohio State Buckeyes found themselves in a precarious position heading into halftime vs. the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday in Ann Arbor.
Not only had they missed a field goal to end the second quarter, but the Wolverines started the second half with the football, and seemingly, all the momentum.
However, the Buckeyes were able to minimize the damage on the opening third-quarter drive, holding Michigan to a field goal.
Then, on the ensuing drive, Ohio State established themselves offensively in a big way, marching down the field behind a powerful rushing attack, and tying the game at 17-17 midway through the third quarter.
In total, the Buckeyes marched 75 yards in 12 plays, including eight consecutive running plays, eating up six minutes and eight seconds of play clock along the way.
TreVeyon Henderson got six of the nine total rushes on the drive, totaling 26 yards with the touchdown.
Backup Chip Traynum also added three carries for 25 yards on the drive.
The 51 rushing yards on the drive exceeded the entire rushing production from the Buckeyes in the first half of play, in which they totaled just 33 yards.
