LOOK: What Number Will Ohio State WR Brandon Inniss Wear?
Though former wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has moved onto the NFL, the legacy of his college jersey number will live on.
Ohio State Buckeyes spring transfers and summer-enrolled freshmen newcomers recently got their jersey assignments and wide receiver Brandon Inniss will wear No. 11, looking to replicate Smith-Njigba's 2021 success while wearing the coveted number.
Four-stars quarterback Lincoln Kienholz, defensive lineman Jason Moore and edge rusher Joshua Mickens will wear Nos. 12, 94 and 52, respectively.
Offensive lineman Josh Simmons will take Ben Christman's No. 71 after he transferred to Kentucky. Lorenzo Styles Jr. — who is listed as a cornerback, confirming the rumors he'd make a position switch from wide receiver — will wear No. 16, and former Ole Miss defensive tackle Tywone Malone will wear No. 95.
Another thing to note from Ohio State's updated roster is the absence of former walk-on running back Chase Brecht, who lost his Black Stripe after April 7's practice and had a solid showing in the spring game. The Buckeyes also added a tight end in Jace Middleton, who used to pitch for Ohio State's baseball team and will wear No. 46.
