By the end of June, Buckeyes class of 2024 wide receiver commit Jeremiah Smithmuch to the chagrin of Buckeye Nation — will have taken both unofficial and official visits to Ohio State, Georgia, Florida and Miami.

His trip to Columbus was Friday with his Hurricanes visit slated for June 21. There's been a lot of rumors floating around social media that all these trips will mean an imminent decommitment from the Buckeyes, but 247Sports' director of football recruiting Steve Wiltfong views it in a different sense.

"I feel like Jeremiah Smith used these official visits as something that he's earned the right to take through his hard work," Wiltfong said on "The College Football Recruiting Show" Thursday. "To go through the process and get a chance to get wined and dined and go see some schools and take some officials."

Despite the visits to other schools, Wiltfong said Ohio State is a program that "checks every one of his boxes."

"Great relationship with (offensive coordinator) Brian Hartline, program trajectory, great offense, receivers dominating in the NFL Draft year in and year out," Wiltfong said. "Until someone close to Jeremiah tells me that they think he's on flip watch, I'm not worried that he's going to leave Ohio State's class."

Of the other visits the rising senior has taken, Wiltfong said people that "spent time around" Smith at Georgia said they "felt good" about the Bulldogs' long-term chances to flip his commitment. Wiltfong said he still likes where the Buckeyes stand in Smith's commitment, though.

Smith, whom Wiltfong called "the jewel of a terrific class," is the No. 2 player in the country and the top wide receiver in the class of 2024, catching 58 passes for 1,073 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior at Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Opa Locka, FL.
