The Ohio State Buckeyes landed a commitment on Sunday from class of 2024 four-star cornerback Aaron Scott Jr., according to On3's Hayes Fawcett

Scott marks the 19th commit and the first cornerback for the Buckeyes' 2024 class, picking Ohio State over Michigan. He is cornerbacks coach Tim Walton's fifth recruiting win in the 2023-24 classes, as he has earned commitments from freshmen Jermaine Mathews Jr. and Calvin Simpson-Hunt, transfer Davison Igbinosun and 2024's Bryce West and Miles Lockhart.

The Springfield, OH. native is the top recruit in the Buckeye State for 2024, the third-best cornerback and the No. 34 overall recruit.

During Scott's junior season at Springfield High School, he had 21 tackles, three for loss, five interceptions — two of which he returned for touchdowns — and a fumble recovery.

The 6-0, 170-pound cornerback also plays basketball and runs track and field.

Ohio State's recruiting class of 2024 is now the second best in the country behind Georgia, as the Buckeyes have six top-50 overall prospects in wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham, defensive lineman Justin Scott, quarterback Air Noland, West and Aaron Scott, according to On3.

In the Buckeyes' offense-heavy recruiting class of 2024, Ohio State now holds seven commitments on defense and has the chance to add on in the cycle.
