Lindy's Sports Predicts Ohio State's 2023 Finish
Ohio State is once again expected to be a powerhouse not just in the Big Ten, but in all of college football. Entering Ryan Day's fifth season at the helm in Columbus, fans and alumni are looking closely at the calendar, and hoping for a win over Michigan as well as a Big Ten title. After that, it could be College Football Playoffs bound for the Buckeyes.
Against that backdrop, Lindy's Sports previewed the college football season, and there's both good news and bad news for Ohio State. The good? The Buckeyes are squarely in the middle of the CFP at No. 3 at the end of the season. The bad? They're right behind the Wolverines.
If that's the case, then it's most likely Michigan would've beaten the Buckeyes in the Nov. 25 matchup in Ann Arbor.
“The road to the Big Ten title goes through Michigan … again,” one Lindy’s headline says.
Lindy’s wrote, “It’s two years and counting since Ohio State has won the Big Ten championship. Look it up: The last time the Buckeyes went two years in a row without claiming a championship was 2015-16. Feeling any pressure, Ryan Day?
“Talent drips from the roster and staff continuity should help. Don’t discount how motivated Day is to get back to the top of the Big Ten heap. Plenty of skill is back on offense, led by wide receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka. And TreVeyon Henderson paces a deep pool of running backs.”
One concern that Lindy's brings up? The quarterback position.
“All eyes are on the quarterback," says the annual publication. "Who’s it going to be now that C.J. Stroud is gone? Kyle McCord and Devin Brown are battling. Stay tuned.”
It sounds like Lindy's has many of the same questions as the rest of us. And yes, "stay tuned.
